Translation note: this is a faithful English translation of AVISO_LEGAL.md. If the two ever disagree, the Spanish version governs, because Spanish law and the Spanish text are the reference used to draft and review this document.

Scope of this document

This is the only legal notice of Voice Scan Lab, S.L. It covers, at the same time:

• the public informational website voicescanlab.com (including its blog); and
• the platform app.voicescanlab.com ("VoiceScan").

There is no separate legal notice for each site. If you ever find a different legal text on the public WordPress site, that text is an outdated copy that should be replaced by this one — see PLAN_ARMONIZACION.md for the mechanism that keeps this in sync.

In compliance with the duty of information under article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), we inform you that this website and the VoiceScan Lab platform are owned by:

2. Purpose

This legal notice governs access to and use of:

• the informational website voicescanlab.com, whose purpose is to present VoiceScan Lab, allow contact with the team, and provide access to the platform; and
• the platform app.voicescanlab.com ("VoiceScan" or "the platform"), which analyses recordings of sung voice through an acoustic analysis engine and machine learning models, and delivers to each user a report on their vocal technique, with a score, level and recommendations, for educational purposes. Use of the platform is further governed by the TERMS_AND_CONDITIONS_EN.md and the PRIVACY_POLICY_EN.md, which prevail over this notice for anything specific to the platform.

3. Nature of the service — important warning

VoiceScan is not a medical service and does not perform clinical diagnoses. The report describes acoustic parameters and vocal mechanics for singing training and coaching purposes; it does not replace the assessment of a doctor, ENT specialist, phoniatrician or speech therapist. If something about your voice concerns you for health reasons, consult a healthcare professional.

4. Conditions of use

Accessing this website and the platform grants the status of user and implies acceptance of the conditions set out here and, in the case of the platform, also of its specific terms and conditions. The user undertakes to make appropriate use of the content and services, not to use them for unlawful purposes or purposes that harm the rights of third parties, or that could damage, disable or overload the service, and to provide truthful data in registration forms.

5. Intellectual and industrial property

All content on this website and on the platform (text, images, trademarks, logos, designs, the software, the analysis engine and the machine learning models) is the property of Voice Scan Lab, S.L., or of third parties who have authorised its use, and is protected by intellectual and industrial property law. Its reproduction, distribution or transformation without express authorisation is prohibited, except where permitted by law.

The report generated for each analysis belongs to the user who owns the recording, for their personal and educational use; Voice Scan Lab retains the rights to the methodology, the engine and the models that generate it.

6. Limitation of liability

Voice Scan Lab, S.L. is not liable for damages arising from:

• misuse of the website or the platform;
• decisions that the user or a third party (for example, a teacher) makes based solely on the report, without contrasting it with the judgement of a voice professional;
• service interruptions due to force majeure or to third-party providers (hosting, payment gateway, email).

7. Minors

If you are under 14, you need the authorisation of your parent or legal guardian to create an account or to be registered as a student by a teacher. See the detail in PRIVACY_POLICY_EN.md §9 and the open questions on this point in INFORME_LEGAL.md.

8. Applicable law and jurisdiction

This legal notice is governed by Spanish law. For the resolution of any dispute arising from access to or use of this website or the platform, the parties submit to the courts of Seville, without prejudice to the rights of the user as a consumer and their right to go to the courts of their own domicile where consumer protection law so allows.

9. Amendments

Voice Scan Lab, S.L. may amend this legal notice to adapt it to legislative developments or changes to the service. The version in force is always the one published on this site, with its date and version number.

10. Image credits (public website only)

Some photographs on the public website come from royalty-free image banks (public domain or CC0, which do not legally require attribution, listed here for transparency). The full list of images, licence, author and source is kept in the portal's own repository (portal_wordpress/assets/libres/LICENCIAS.md); it is not duplicated here so it does not need to be maintained in two places when a photo changes.
